How I learned to run things.

Three things I've actually done:

– Ran a €500K, 12-person institute through regional conflict. Kept enrollments stable.

I started teaching French in London. Then I directed a French Cultural Institute in Jerusalem, ran another one in Chiang Mai, Thailand through COVID, and now lead academic operations at SKEMA Business School in Paris.

Along the way, I taught myself to ship software — building MyShopMinder solo in six months using AI-assisted development.

Cultural institutes and SaaS startups don't look alike on paper. The operator job is the same: small team, no playbook, real users, things breaking faster than you can fix. A 12-person institute in Jerusalem and a 30-person Series A team have more in common than recruiters assume — only the noise changes.
